Léo de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário dos Santos in the 4th minute of play. Pedro Paulo Soeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrézinho Garcia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. If Dário dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inhomirim's Léo de Andrade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Inhomirim from getting a goal against them. In the 14th match minute, Ibacatu EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Meireles to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, João Adolfo Neiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inhomirim's supporters rose to their feet, but João Adolfo Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrézinho Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dário dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Inhomirim's Kléberson Faustino got a free kick in the 25th minute. After having played for 32 minutes, Tadeu Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibacatu EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Inhomirim's Delfim Quirino got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dário dos Santos made a kick off. João Adolfo Neiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrézinho Garcia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Adolfo Neiva ran back to his position shaking his head. Dário dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Léo de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tadeu Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ibacatu EC's Andrézinho Garcia got control of the ball when João Adolfo Neiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Léo de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Pedro Paulo Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Adolfo Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Ibacatu EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Inhomirim's performance. The match ended with a win for Inhomirim.
