Bernardo de Souza started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Cathe EC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos de Castro came free, but José Paulo Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Cathe EC's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Cearense came free, but José Paulo Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th match minute, Cathe EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Gomes to maneuver through the defense. Zé Carlos de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo Almeida having to interfere. Jardimirim's Leopoldo Ceresso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Jardimirim from getting a goal against them. Carlos Ramalho hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. José Paulo Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diamantino Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31stth minute of the game Zé Carlos de Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cathe EC's José Paulo Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. José Paulo Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ulysses Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Carlos de Castro to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germano Gomes in the 52nd minute of play forced Jardimirim's goalkeeper Leopoldo Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Meirelles in the 53rd minute of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Bernardo de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cathe EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo de Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo de Souza in the 60th minute of play forced Jardimirim's goalkeeper Leopoldo Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulysses Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jardimirim's Leopoldo Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo de Souza in the 65th minute of play. Ramiro de Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Leopoldo Ceresso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulysses Braga went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. José Paulo Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos de Castro in the 76th minute of the match. After 82 played minutes Jardimirim got a freekick which was hit by David Barral. A collision led to Cathe EC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Júlio Machado hit a great ball. Zé Carlos de Castro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Jardimirim's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Diamantino Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Paulo Almeida having to make a save. Bernardo de Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cathe EC had won after a very even match.
