Pedrao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubinho Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cathe EC's zone, Pedro Luiz Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Paulo Almeida came out of the goal and Pedro Luiz Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Pedrao defense, Ulysses Braga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chico Senna. The Pedrao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chico Senna should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Cathe EC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Bernardinho Meirelles hit a great ball. Cathe EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
