Rui Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédson Silveira in the 11th minute of the match. The supporters of Guarima booed when Itapema was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Faustino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th match minute, Itapema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadá Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. Guarima's Percival Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusébio Messias got free with Zé Paulo Branco in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute, Ivo de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 33 minutes, Romário Rossi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarima and the Itapema players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, João Vítor Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapema's supporters rose to their feet, but João Vítor Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rui Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dadá Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Frédson Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapema's supporters rose to their feet, but Frédson Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Vítor Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Luz having to interfere. After 66 minutes of play Guarima's Romário Rossi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ivo de Lara shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Dadá Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rui Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the game, Guarima's Eusébio Messias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Paulo Branco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Vítor Andrade got free with Rui Luz in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Itapema's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Guarima had won, even though Itapema had held more of the ball.
