Ulysses Zonta charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulysses Zonta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sucuriu AD booed when Uruguayana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute of the match Belmiro Machado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gláuber Gaúcho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Belmiro Machado, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 11 minutes of play Uruguayana's Ulysses Zonta was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 11 played minutes Uruguayana got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Zonta. If Zé Carlos da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Antônio das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Valadares having to interfere. Antônio das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilvan Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 played minutes Uruguayana got a freekick which was hit by Dedé de Carvalho. Gilvan Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uruguayana were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Sucuriu AD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teodoro Fernandez took the corner. Gilvan Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gláuber Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Uruguayana's Gláuber Gaúcho got control of the ball when Gilvan Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gilvan Araújo struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Gláuber Gaúcho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sucuriu AD. 43 minutes into the match, Uruguayana's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos da Cunha came free, but Gláuber Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Antônio das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguayana's supporters rose to their feet, but Antônio das Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilmar Valadares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Antônio das Neves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nilmar Valadares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The Sucuriu AD players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Uruguayana were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Antônio das Neves made the kick off in the second half. Zé Carlos da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Gaúcho having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, Uruguayana's Antônio das Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nilmar Valadares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Antônio das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Zé Carlos da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sucuriu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Carlos da Cunha couldn't finish the play. Sucuriu AD's Nilmar Valadares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Sucuriu AD from getting a goal against them. Gláuber Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Correia in the 69th minute of play. Nilmar Valadares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio das Neves in the 78th minute. Gláuber Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Doriva Hermes's late challenge caught a Sucuriu AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doriva Hermes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Uruguayana's Doriva Hermes got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Antônio das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doriva Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Uruguayana walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
