Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Perobal SC's Pedro Luiz de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Paraibano in the 39th minute of play. Delfim Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delfim Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 played minutes, Lalima SC's Leopoldo Alagoano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Luiz de Carvalho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lalima SC reached it. Victor Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frédson Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Delfim Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Perobal SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delfim Pinho couldn't finish the play. Rony Rosado's late challenge caught a Perobal SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rony Rosado helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lalima SC's Rony Rosado got a free kick in the 57th minute. Perobal SC's Pedro Luiz de Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Perobal SC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Delfim Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perobal SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexsandro Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Frédson Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agnaldo Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
