Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luiz Fabiano Couto started the match with the kick off. Luiz Fabiano Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ulisses Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 7 minutes, João Carlos Paraense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talhada and the Canitar SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 7 played minutes Talhada got a freekick which was hit by João Carlos Paraense. After a rather tough play, Canitar SC's Agnaldo Trigo got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute Leonel Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamílton Mumbach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonel Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hamílton Mumbach having to interfere. Luís Pitta's late challenge caught a Canitar SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Pitta helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Canitar SC booed when Talhada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agenor Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Canitar SC's Dionísio Carneiro suffered a concussion in the 43rd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. During the 43rd minute of the match João Carlos Paraense completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave João Carlos Paraense a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 48 minutes of play Talhada's Luís Pitta was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ulisses Mota acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 49th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Agnaldo Trigo. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Ulisses Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulisses Mota. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ulisses Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. 54 minutes into the match, Canitar SC's Luiz Fabiano Couto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulisses Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Ulisses Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Talhada's Ulisses Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulisses Vieira in the 70th minute of play. After having played for 80 minutes, Gino Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talhada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gino Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Canitar SC's goalkeeper Hamílton Mumbach, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ulisses Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90thth minute of the game Ulisses Vieira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Talhada's Ulisses Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ulisses Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Mota having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agenor Gaúcho during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Talhada supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Talhada would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
