In the 4th minute, Leonel Messias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gilberto Duarte. The goal made the score 1-0. Talhada's Ulisses Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Miranda in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Leonel Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Rodolfo do Vale made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Duarte. Ibicoara SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Juvenal Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ulisses Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulisses Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Gonçalves in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Leonel Messias fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gilberto Duarte, passed just outside the right post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juvenal Miranda to make the kick off. Juvenal Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo do Vale during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gilberto Duarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 62 minutes, João Carlos Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talhada's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carlos Paraense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Percy Prestes during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 65 minutes into the game, one of Ibicoara SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. João Carlos Paraense's late challenge caught a Ibicoara SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Carlos Paraense helped the player get up and apologised. João Carlos Paraense hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The supporters of Talhada booed when Ibicoara SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luiz Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Talhada's Mateus Alagoano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Leonel Messias might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilberto Duarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonel Messias ran back to his position shaking his head. If Maurinho Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute.
