The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ricardinho Mumbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amauri Berger hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. With his leg Doriva Alves managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Itu SS's Flávio Matorin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 18 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luís Diniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Munim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itu SS the free kick. Sílvio Luís Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Sílvio Luís Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Itu SS's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Faustino came free, but Alfredão Valadares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Faustino in the 32nd minute of play forced Itu SS's goalkeeper Alfredão Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Flávio Matorin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itu SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Alfredão Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Diniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flávio Matorin to strike the kick off in the second half. Flávio Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute Flávio Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredão Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Faustino in the 72nd minute of the match. Sílvio Luís Diniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ricardo Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
