The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th minute, Leopoldo Guimarães fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Tostão Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Lenílson Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tostão Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusébio Tróia in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tostão Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lenílson Baiano having to interfere. Tostão Rossi might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lenílson Baiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tostão Rossi ran back to his position shaking his head. Lenílson Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Rossi in the 33rd minute of the match. Pesqueiro's Lenílson Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Rossi in the 37th minute of play. Rony Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Charles Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Guimarães's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lenílson Baiano firmly grabbed it by the left post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tostão Rossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Dedê Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pesqueiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tuyuti SC the free kick. In the 54th match minute, Pesqueiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedê Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute Eusébio Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusébio Tróia was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Pesqueiro's Eusébio Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes into the match, Tuyuti SC's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Tróia came free, but Charles Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Rossi in the 73rd minute of play forced Pesqueiro's goalkeeper Lenílson Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vito Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of Tuyuti SC booed when Pesqueiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vito Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lenílson Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Guimarães in the 86th minute of play. Dedê Tinoco hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match.
