Marquinhos Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Claudinho Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renato Freitas charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renato Freitas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th match minute, Imbu EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Freitas to maneuver through the defense. Dida Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinho Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Marquinhos Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Vianna having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Imbu EC's Renato Freitas got a free kick in the 30th minute. Agenor Koehler's late challenge caught a Imbu EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agenor Koehler helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Capitoa's Agenor Koehler got a free kick in the 34th minute. Imbu EC's Renato Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute Marcelo Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nilson Sarmento was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Proença in the 57th minute of play forced Capitoa's goalkeeper Dida Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Capitoa's zone, Marcelo Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dida Berger came out of the goal and Marcelo Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinho Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilson Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Vianna having to interfere. Renato Freitas hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 70 minutes of play, Imbu EC's Gonçalo Toscano made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Berger was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claudinho Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Imbu EC's Claudinho Vianna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Imbu EC from getting a goal against them. Gonçalo Toscano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nilson Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Claudinho Vianna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capitoa. In the 89th minute, Marquinhos Bertassi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Capitoa players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Imbu EC.
