In the 12th minute, Cléber Meira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baleia SS's Albertinho Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Meira in the 22nd minute of play. Albertinho Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Meira in the 23rd minute of play. Guigos's Alexsandro Severo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 25th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Baleia SS. Albertinho Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséias de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Baleia SS's Andrézinho Galvão got a free kick in the 28th minute. Baleia SS's Ronaldinho Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 42 played minutes Baleia SS got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Miranda. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Zé Madureira made the kick off in the second half. Cléber Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Ronaldinho Romero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lino Koehler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to Baleia SS getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Nando Quirino hit a great ball. With his leg Albertinho Ferreira managed to avoid a goal in the 68thth minute, when Guigos's Oséias de Souza fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Guigos's Lino Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Madureira in the 72nd minute of play.
