This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Marcelinho Ferraz as he didn't even see the shot coming. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Paulo Ferreira was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Jardel Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Paulo Ferreira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luiz Paulo Mello came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Paulo Ferreira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 54th minute. Marcelinho Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Marquez in the 64th minute of play. Luiz Paulo Mello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sílvio Luís Maia in the 65th minute. If Luiz Eduardo de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute.
