Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Praia's Zeca Neiva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Váldson Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior Cordeiro in the 5th minute of the match. Orlando Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Walmyr da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Praia's zone, Júnior Cordeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson Rezende came out of the goal and Júnior Cordeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th match minute, Praia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertino Velasco to maneuver through the defense. Eduardo Tróia hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Angelo Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Rezende having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Praia's Albertino Velasco got a free kick in the 17th minute. Zeca Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmyr da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Walmyr da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeca Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Júnior Cordeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inocencia SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Orlando Zonta struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Walmyr da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Praia. In the 42nd minute Júnior Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Váldson Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 48 minutes, Orlando Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Zonta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júnior Cordeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vito Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angelo Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Inocencia SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
