If Lúcio Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldinho Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Luiz Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Murihe getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Aluísio Vasconcelos hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Murihe's zone, Osvaldinho Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fonseca came out of the goal and Osvaldinho Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Itaperucu SS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Armando Loyola hit a great ball. In the 32ndth minute of the game Osvaldinho Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Murihe's Luiz Fonseca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 39 played minutes Murihe got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Barreto. Adalmo Magalhães was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 39th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldinho Sena made a kick off. Augusto Paiva didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Murihe's Lúcio Cerezo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Alfredão Fernandez hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Augusto Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Pirani in the 69th minute of the match. In the 71stth minute of the game Vágner Pirani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itaperucu SS's Augusto Paiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lúcio Cerezo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Paiva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Itaperucu SS's Alfredão Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murihe's Luiz Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Sena in the 83rd minute of play. If Alfredão Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Lúcio Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Itaperucu SS's goalkeeper Augusto Paiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Murihe succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Itaperucu SS had controlled the match.
