Augusto Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matheus Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Váldson Neiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldinho Sena's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Manuel Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Melo's late challenge caught a Itaperucu SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Melo helped the player get up and apologised. Juan Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mutunopolis FC's goalkeeper Váldson Neiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st minute Manuel Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rubens Maciel hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Matheus Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Luís Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Mutunopolis FC's zone, Osvaldinho Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson Neiva came out of the goal and Osvaldinho Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the match, Mutunopolis FC's goalkeeper Váldson Neiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredão Fernandez. In the 38th minute, Juan Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Váldson Neiva was a little too slow when Osvaldinho Sena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Augusto Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matheus Quirino in the 54th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Alfredão Fernandez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Váldson Neiva was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, Osvaldinho Sena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Váldson Neiva. Mutunopolis FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldinho Sena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Váldson Neiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldinho Sena's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Evaristo Valladares hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Váldson Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Manuel Favoretto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Augusto Paiva made a huge save. After 85 played minutes Itaperucu SS got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Fernandez. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldinho Sena in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Váldson Neiva saved Mutunopolis FC from getting behind. In the 89thth minute of the game Osvaldinho Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mutunopolis FC's Váldson Neiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. During the 90th minute of the match Juan Melo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Juan Melo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 90th minute, Juan Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Itaperucu SS's Osvaldinho Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Váldson Neiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Itaperucu SS had won after a very even match.
