Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pedrão Simão started the match with the kick off. Arlindo Carneiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vágner Pirani's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Vítor Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chamengo AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Simão in the 13th minute of play. Vítor Santos in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luiz Fonseca, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Murihe's Rodolfo Eger got a free kick in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Aluísio Vasconcelos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Murihe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chamengo AD the free kick. After having played for 23 minutes, Vágner Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murihe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vágner Pirani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vágner Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Arlindo Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Lúcio Cerezo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arlindo Carneiro was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Lúcio Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arlindo Carneiro having to make a save. Arlindo Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Murihe's Vágner Pirani nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arlindo Carneiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Cerezo to make the kick off. Vágner Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chamengo AD's Arlindo Carneiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Chamengo AD from getting a goal against them. Emerson Albuquerque charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emerson Albuquerque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 played minutes Chamengo AD got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Albuquerque. Magno Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Vágner Pirani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arlindo Carneiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Lúcio Cerezo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arlindo Carneiro was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Magno Rezende's late challenge caught a Murihe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magno Rezende helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Murihe booed when Chamengo AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magno Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chamengo AD's Emerson Albuquerque got his second yellow card of the match in the 81st minute. The referee ordered Emerson Albuquerque off the ground. Emerson Albuquerque hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 85 played minutes Murihe got a freekick which was hit by Aluísio Vasconcelos. With a little luck, Chamengo AD's Arlindo Carneiro got control of the ball when Vágner Pirani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chamengo AD's Arlindo Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lúcio Cerezo in the 92nd minute of play. The Murihe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Murihe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
