In the 17th minute, Acopiara's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alex Alves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Hernani Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Vítor Galvão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Camaca's Wilson Favoretto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zé Roberto Hermes. Zé Roberto Hermes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Acopiara's Zé Roberto Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Alves in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Alex Alves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zé Roberto Hermes, 3-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elano Mendonça during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zé Roberto Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute.
