Rubinho do Valle made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Luizinho Viana sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luizinho Viana in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubinho do Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walmyr Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Hermes having to interfere. Zé Roberto Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Walmyr Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizinho Viana scored 1-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubinho do Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Vítor Galvão got free with Rubinho do Valle in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Canicora EC's Rubinho do Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Canicora EC from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the match, Acopiara's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Pitta came free, but Zé Roberto Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Canicora EC booed when Acopiara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Vítor Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dário Porto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Acopiara's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Porto came free, but Zé Roberto Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Acopiara defense, Walmyr Pitta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Roberto Hermes. The Acopiara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Roberto Hermes should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute Luizinho Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute, João Francisco Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Fernando Guedes did an outstanding performance 74 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-2 to the right of an irritated Rubinho do Valle in the goal. In the 77th minute, Luizinho Viana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rubinho do Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Rubinho do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Galvão in the 81st minute of the match. Zé Roberto Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Porto in the 84th minute of the match. Rubinho do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Dário Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canicora EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dário Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Roberto Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Vítor Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
