Alessandro Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê Meirelles in the 30th minute of the match. Pompunhas's Geovani Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 38 minutes of play, Cavalcanti's Glauco Meirelles made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alessandro Sabóia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pompunhas's Alessandro Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Meirelles in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Célio Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Augusto Leme to strike the kick off in the second half.
