In the 19th minute José Paulo da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Rossi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tony Matos. Cavalcanti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tony Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cavalcanti players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Imperio.
