After a defensive mix-up in Aroeira's zone, Luisinho Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Cavalcante came out of the goal and Luisinho Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Umberto de Brito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Breno Silva. That made the score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. A collision led to Aroeira getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Erivaldo da Costa hit a great ball. Gustavo de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Silva having to interfere. Norberto Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Augusto Mesquita in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 37th minute Luisinho Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 39 played minutes Aroeira got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo da Costa. João Augusto Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute, Wilson Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Luisinho Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luisinho Lopes to make the kick off. Umberto de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Breno Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Umberto de Brito sped through Mabe SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Breno Silva. Norberto Cavalcante made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when João Augusto Mesquita sent off a good shot on target. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Aroeira's goal looked a bit too open when Luisinho Lopes came free, but Norberto Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If João Augusto Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norberto Cavalcante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisinho Lopes in the 95th minute. 97 minutes into the game, João Augusto Mesquita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Norberto Cavalcante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
