Carlos Alberto Vianna started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute Richard de Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizinho Arruda hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard de Queirós in the 12th minute of play forced Cavaidaruco's goalkeeper Dedê Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th match minute, Guarulhos EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Barreto to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Carlos Alberto Vianna sped through Guarulhos EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernão da Silveira. Fernão da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alberto Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dedê Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Paraense in the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Carlos Alberto Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cavaidaruco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Alberto Vianna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Richard de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Cavaidaruco defense, Hélder Mazza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dedê Botelho. The Cavaidaruco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dedê Botelho should have stopped the shot. Carlos Alberto Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richard de Queirós to strike the kick off in the second half. Otávio Koehler's late challenge caught a Guarulhos EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Otávio Koehler helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Guarulhos EC booed when Cavaidaruco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otávio Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matheus Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Vianna scored 2-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernão da Silveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hélder Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Cavaidaruco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Arruda to maneuver through the defense. Lúcio Donato could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Fernão da Silveira made a huge save. Lúcio Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 80 minutes of play, Guarulhos EC's Hélder Mazza made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dedê Botelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After taking down the ball on Cavaidaruco's corner Abel Branco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fernão da Silveira quite easily take care of the ball. Hélder Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Botelho having to interfere. The supporters of Guarulhos EC booed when Cavaidaruco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 98th minute Carlos Alberto Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernão da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guarulhos EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
