Paulinho Recife yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Natanael Valladares's late challenge caught a Mambai SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natanael Valladares helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvinho Loyola made a kick off. Natanael Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Mambai SS defense, Mário Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulinho Recife. The Mambai SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulinho Recife should have stopped the shot. When Belagua EC's Natanael Valladares in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Adrianinho Montenegro charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrianinho Montenegro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Afonsinho Montenegro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving João Augusto Faria. 3-2. In the 86th minute, Fernandinho Guedes made a precise shot to the right of Paulinho Recife. Mambai SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. In the 91st minute of the match Dudu Rossi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulinho Recife showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gláuber Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mambai SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Gláuber Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Augusto Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Belagua EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
