Mambai SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilton Neiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After the first half Mambai SS were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nilton Neiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paulinho Recife showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilton Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. A collision led to Aprasive AD getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Cristiano Quadros hit a great ball. With a little luck, Aprasive AD's Erivaldo Vianna got control of the ball when Gláuber Antunes tried to sneak it across the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mambai SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
