If Cássio Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Miriti EC's Américo Figueiredo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Túlio Santana. That made the score 1-0 after 43 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Breno Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Miriti EC's Charles Paes got a free kick in the 64th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Miriti EC's Betinho Negri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Túlio Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 73 minutes, Albertino Alagoano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Miriti EC and the Guary players grew even worse after the yellow card.
