Walmyr Simão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz de Alcântara in the 12th minute of the match. Leandro Breckenfeld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Walmyr Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pedro Luiz de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Cangonhal EC's Eliseu Carvalho got a free kick in the 18th minute. Eliseu Carvalho hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Walmyr Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Daniel Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leandro Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
52 minutes into the match, Wilton Proença notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Cangonhal EC's Kauan Guedes. Kauan Guedes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Breckenfeld in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmyr Simão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pedro Luiz de Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62ndth minute of the game Pedro Luiz de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xapury's Walmyr Simão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kauan Guedes came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Xapury's Daniel Freire. But to his dismay, Daniel Freire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Eliseu Carvalho hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Daniel Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leandro Breckenfeld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Simão having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Xapury got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Ferraz. Cangonhal EC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Xapury had won, even though Cangonhal EC had held more of the ball.
