Joaquim Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Antunes in the 9th minute of the match. Renan Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 16 played minutes Thomar got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho da Fonseca. Tomás Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Toscano in the 20th minute of play. If Ricardo Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Tasso having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Márcio Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Pedroso SC's Renan Seco got control of the ball when José Carlos Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 39 played minutes Thomar got a freekick which was hit by João Francisco Leal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abelardo Montenegro made a kick off. Renan Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Carlos Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 54 played minutes Pedroso SC got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Alagoano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Montenegro in the 56th minute of play forced Pedroso SC's goalkeeper Renan Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Pedroso SC's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Montenegro came free, but Renan Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Thomar's goalkeeper Joaquim Tasso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Antunes. Ricardo Toscano scored 0-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquim Tasso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 72 played minutes Pedroso SC got a freekick which was hit by Válter Melo. Abelardo Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renan Seco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ricardo Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pedroso SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Tasso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes into the game, Sandrinho da Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thomar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pedroso SC the free kick. Pedroso SC's Tomás Antunes managed to work through Thomar's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Tomás Antunes dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Ricardo Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Thomar fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Thomar's José Carlos Rossi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Pedroso SC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
