Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jeremias Faustino got the match started through his kick off. Osmar Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaká Toledo in the 4th minute. Jeremias Faustino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Osmar Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kaká Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Castelhanos FC booed when Goitacazes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Castelhanos FC's Kaká Toledo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osmar Coelho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 31 played minutes Goitacazes got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Alvarenga. Kaká Toledo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Osmar Coelho made a huge save. In the 38th match minute, Castelhanos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Wellington Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Castelhanos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ricardo Paranaense in the 50th minute. The corner led Castelhanos FC's Ricardo Paranaense to fire away a dangerous shot which Osmar Coelho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedê Leão to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Leão in the 55th minute of play forced Castelhanos FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Castelhanos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dedê Leão came free, but Bernardo Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kaká Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Osmar Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Jeremias Faustino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castelhanos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Faustino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osmar Coelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeremias Faustino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. In the 63rd match minute, Goitacazes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danilo Braga to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes Goitacazes got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Alvarenga. Antônio Carlos Mendonça struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Bernardo Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goitacazes. In the 80th minute, Kaká Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeremias Faustino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Antônio Carlos Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antônio Carlos Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Nascimento having to interfere. Bernardo Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Bernardo Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Antônio Carlos Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. 97 minutes into the match, Kaká Toledo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Goitacazes's Osmar Coelho. Osmar Coelho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Goitacazes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
