After a rather tough play, Santinho's Tomás Mendonça got a free kick in the 3rd minute. When Giuseppe Ramalho fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquarinhas FC's protests and gave Giuseppe Ramalho a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Taquarinhas FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Giuseppe Ramalho hit a great ball. After 10 played minutes Taquarinhas FC got a freekick which was hit by Cléberson Vergílio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinei Viana in the 12th minute of play forced Taquarinhas FC's goalkeeper Christiano Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Jarbas Rosado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Remo Luz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Romeu de Godoy showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Santinho's Remo Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu de Godoy in the 21st minute of play. Jarbas Rosado's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Remo Luz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Santinho getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. José Augusto Ramos hit a great ball. Remo Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu de Godoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christiano Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinei Viana in the 40th minute of the match. Christiano Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enrique Lopez's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. When Rômulo Pena fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquarinhas FC's protests and gave Rômulo Pena a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Santinho booed when Taquarinhas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Enrique Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiano Esteves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romeu de Godoy was the one to do the kick off. José Augusto Ramos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Christiano Esteves came out and tried to block the shot, but José Augusto Ramos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 51st minute. After 56 minutes of play, Taquarinhas FC's Jarbas Rosado made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remo Luz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 65 minutes into the match, Taquarinhas FC's goalkeeper Christiano Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dinei Viana. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Taquarinhas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adalberto Corrêa was slow to take the kick. During this time Santinho's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Adalberto Corrêa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Christiano Esteves quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Romeu de Godoy came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Taquarinhas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeu de Godoy couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, Taquarinhas FC's goalkeeper Christiano Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dinei Viana. Enrique Lopez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Christiano Esteves came out and tried to block the shot, but Enrique Lopez slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 84th minute. When Romeu de Godoy came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Taquarinhas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeu de Godoy couldn't finish the play. Romeu de Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Remo Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Cléberson Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taquarinhas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléberson Vergílio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remo Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
