In the 19th match minute, Guai AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otávio Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Edvaldo Brasil struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Adelino Seco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guai AD. Edvaldo Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Seco having to interfere. Adelino Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeu Gaúcho in the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of Guai AD booed when Marrecao AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guai AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by João Carlos Leal in the 33rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Luís Gustavo Corrêa made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Guai AD's zone, Luís Gustavo Corrêa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Garcia came out of the goal and Luís Gustavo Corrêa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edvaldo Brasil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomé Meira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Cruz in the 72nd minute of play forced Guai AD's goalkeeper Abelardo Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charles Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Abelardo Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeu Gaúcho might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adelino Seco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romeu Gaúcho ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Guai AD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Marrecao AD throughout the match.
