Vágner Coelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Adelino Seco made a huge save. Vágner Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Seco having to interfere. Valdir dos Santos's late challenge caught a Marrecao AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdir dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. Valdir dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Cruz in the 20th minute of play forced Barranca's goalkeeper Hélio Faustino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Vágner Coelho took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Adelino Seco to make any attempt to save it. Vágner Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Róbson Peres was the one to do the kick off. Charles Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Faustino having to interfere. The supporters of Marrecao AD booed when Barranca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 played minutes Barranca got a freekick which was hit by Silvinho Zanette. 58 minutes into the match, Marrecao AD's Benê Meira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélio Faustino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silas Penha during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Peres in the 88th minute of play forced Marrecao AD's goalkeeper Adelino Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erik Paranaense charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Paranaense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Barranca booed when Marrecao AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Charles Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Marrecao AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Cruz couldn't finish the play.
