Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Itapuan SS's Lúcio Barbosa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Muquicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Barbosa came free, but Vivaldo Quaresma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reynaldo Brasil made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Duarte França sent off a good shot on target. Naldo de Godoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Brasil having to interfere. When Basílio Perez came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Itapuan SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Perez couldn't finish the play. Reynaldo Brasil made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Duarte França sent off a good shot on target. Lúcio Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vivaldo Quaresma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After 23 played minutes Itapuan SS got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Perez. Naldo de Godoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Brasil having to interfere. Itapuan SS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Naldo de Godoy scored to the left of an out of position Reynaldo Brasil, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Muquicaba booed when Itapuan SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger Fernandes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reynaldo Brasil. Itapuan SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elano Saraiva got free with Reynaldo Brasil in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roger Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roger Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Muquicaba got a freekick which was hit by Roger Fernandes. It was beautiful to see Itapuan SS's Válbson Arce in action when he in the 46th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After a rather tough play, Muquicaba's Geovani Bertassi got a free kick in the 47th minute. If Tião Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naldo de Godoy made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Naldo de Godoy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muquicaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Naldo de Godoy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Duarte França came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Muquicaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte França couldn't finish the play. When Basílio Perez fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapuan SS's protests and gave Basílio Perez a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Itapuan SS getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Basílio Perez hit a great ball. Muquicaba's Raphael da Cunha couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Itapuan SS. Reynaldo Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reynaldo Brasil came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Muquicaba's Naldo de Godoy. But to his dismay, Naldo de Godoy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Barbosa in the 67th minute of play forced Muquicaba's goalkeeper Vivaldo Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Raphael da Cunha was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Itapuan SS's Agnaldo Albuquerque got a free kick in the 74th minute. Reynaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte França in the 75th minute of the match. After 81 played minutes Muquicaba got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Cruz. Muquicaba's Naldo de Godoy got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Itapuan SS's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte França came free, but Reynaldo Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reynaldo Brasil came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Muquicaba's Naldo de Godoy. But to his dismay, Naldo de Godoy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte França in the 98th minute of play forced Itapuan SS's goalkeeper Reynaldo Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
