Carlos Augusto Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naldo de Godoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Fabrício Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Vivaldo Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vicente's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Peres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Fabrício Tróia fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Dênis Cruz hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Victor Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivaldo Quaresma having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Vicente's goal looked a bit too open when Naldo de Godoy came free, but Carlos Augusto Peres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Fabrício Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabrício Tróia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Victor Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Vivaldo Quaresma successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Naldo de Godoy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muquicaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Naldo de Godoy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Augusto Peres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vivaldo Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabrício Tróia made a kick off. Naldo de Godoy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Muquicaba's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Duarte França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Muquicaba's Naldo de Godoy was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 68th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Dênis Cruz fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muquicaba's protests and gave Dênis Cruz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Dênis Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vivaldo Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Carlos Augusto Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naldo de Godoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Naldo de Godoy took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Carlos Augusto Peres to make any attempt to save it. The Muquicaba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Muquicaba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
