The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vito Cerezo came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Cachorro's Jaime Dante. But to his dismay, Jaime Dante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Celso Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão Cabral having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Zé Carlos Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jaime Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Rodolfo Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cachorro's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Ferraz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vito Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Rodolfo Ferraz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vito Cerezo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ricardo Galvão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betão Cabral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If Jaime Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Ferraz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vito Cerezo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

If Celso Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 59th minute, Zacarias Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Catarinense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cachorro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costas the free kick. Cristóvão Catarinense hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, Costas's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Dante came free, but Vito Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vito Cerezo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristóvão Catarinense showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 80 minute of play. Jaime Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Zacarias Pontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute of the match Costas got a corner. Cachorro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mazinho Secco ran over to the corner to take the kick. 91 minutes into the game, Enio Zilles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cachorro the free kick. The supporters of Cachorro booed when Costas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Zilles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Galvão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Betão Cabral having to make a save. 94 minutes into the game, Arí Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cachorro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costas the free kick. A collision led to Cachorro getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Arí Reis hit a great ball. Celso Donato's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betão Cabral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Cachorro played a much better game than Costas and deserved their victory. The Costas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
