Cássio Paranaense started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michel Damião during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Artur Machado stood somewhat misplaced when Patrício Bastos came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 4 minute. In the 8th minute, Cedrolandia's Patrício Bastos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artur Machado. Artur Machado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. If Patrício Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrício Bastos struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Artur Machado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cedrolandia. If Cássio Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 minutes, Sydney Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corumbatahy EC and the Cedrolandia players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Corumbatahy EC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Sydney Vale hit a great ball. In the 25th minute of the match, Patrício Bastos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Artur Machado saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cedrolandia's Samuca Mineiro got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 50 minutes into the match, Cedrolandia's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Mandrak came free, but Zé Pedro Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patrício Bastos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cássio Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zé Pedro Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Samuca Mineiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Machado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Patrício Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Samuca Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Quaresma charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino Quaresma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, Corumbatahy EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Quaresma to maneuver through the defense. When Patrício Bastos came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Cedrolandia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrício Bastos couldn't finish the play. Corumbatahy EC's Artur Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrício Bastos in the 78th minute of play. Cedrolandia's Zé Pedro Recife proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Cedrolandia from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Patrício Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 99 minutes into the match, Cedrolandia's Patrício Bastos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Machado narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
