Nando Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristóvão Eger in the 11th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Ramiro de Almeida got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Américo Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vivaldo Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Montenegro having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Rafinha Freire was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jacuarana SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Planura SC the free kick. Rafinha Freire hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Ramiro de Almeidas short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Reynaldo Montenegro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cristóvão Eger struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Nando Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jacuarana SS. If Cristóvão Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute of the match Eriberto Donato sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nando Madureira skillfully saved the ball. After 40 minutes of play, Jacuarana SS's Simão Oliveira made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nando Madureira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nando Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simão Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nando Madureira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristóvão Eger's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute, Eriberto Donato sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Planura SC's Nando Madureira didn't even have to move. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vivaldo Branco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ramiro de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Montenegro having to interfere. If Vivaldo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, Planura SC's goalkeeper Nando Madureira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristóvão Eger. With his leg Nando Madureira managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Jacuarana SS's Simão Oliveira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Simão Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Rafinha Freire cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Nando Madureira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With 72 minutes on the clock, Antônio Souza commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 72 minutes into the game, one of Jacuarana SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 1-2 came in the 75th minute when Elder Bastos all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Reynaldo Montenegro. Cristóvão Eger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nando Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play.
