Durvalino Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmo Terra to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Alfredo Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival da Rocha in the 53rd minute of play forced Seribinha FC's goalkeeper Romário Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Durvalino Moreno managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Seribinha FC's Murilo Meira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Capela's Durvalino Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Leal in the 61st minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Hílton Leal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Durvalino Moreno. Capela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hílton Leal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
