When Breno Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Montezuma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Breno Ramalho couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute, Breno Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquinhos Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Paraíba having to interfere. Mazinho Pombal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Breno Ramalho went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Mário Gaúcho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franklin Paraíba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Ivoti's goal looked a bit too open when Breno Ramalho came free, but Mazinho Pombal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Jonathan Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Paraíba having to interfere. Jonathan Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Dorival Madureira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ivoti's Mazinho Pombal didn't even have to move. In the 35th minute Ismael Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes, Breno Ramalho made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ivoti's Mazinho Pombal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute, Ivoti's Mário Gaúcho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. If Ismael Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Ramalho in the 46th minute of play forced Ivoti's goalkeeper Mazinho Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ismael Bastos was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Breno Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montezuma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breno Ramalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ismael Bastos, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 54 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Mazinho Pombal was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Mário Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Paraíba having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Gaúcho in the 67th minute of play forced Montezuma's goalkeeper Franklin Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Montezuma getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Pedro Luís Sampaio hit a great ball. Ismael Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mazinho Pombal having to interfere. Ismael Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mazinho Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Bastos in the 83rd minute of play. Franklin Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marquinhos Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Mazinho Pombal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ismael Bastos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 93 minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Montezuma eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
