The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Amauri Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The referee showed Túlio Hoffmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 5 played minutes Itaiopolis AD got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Hoffmann. The supporters of Itaiopolis AD booed when Carvoeiro AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iuri Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Hoffmann in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Túlio Hoffmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iuri Magalhães. Carvoeiro AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Túlio Hoffmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Carvoeiro AD's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Trancoso came free, but Iuri Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Amauri Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Carvoeiro AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri Meireles couldn't finish the play. Amauri Meireles struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Andrézinho Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carvoeiro AD. After 23 minutes, Silvinho de Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itaiopolis AD and the Carvoeiro AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26thth minute of the game Túlio Hoffmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carvoeiro AD's Iuri Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. José Maria Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. In the 33rd match minute, Carvoeiro AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo da Costa to maneuver through the defense. The wind increased when Túlio Hoffmann made the kick off in the second half. Abel Simões sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Andrézinho Cabral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Simões's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Túlio Hoffmann in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iuri Magalhães saved Carvoeiro AD from getting behind. Itaiopolis AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamim Freire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carvoeiro AD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
