Marcel Quirino hit a great ball. Anselmo Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Magalhães in the 9th minute of the match. Ernesto Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu Favoretto having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Rosado in the 14th minute of play forced Vanderley SS's goalkeeper Anselmo Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Paraibano struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Dudu Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vanderley SS. Dudu Favoretto didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 29th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Vanderley SS's Ernesto Paraibano got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gino Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Trempes EC's Dudu Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Paraibano in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Tibúrcio da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 60 minutes of play, Vanderley SS's Ernesto Paraibano made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dudu Favoretto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dudu Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino Proença in the 65th minute of play. If César Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Trempes EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vanderley SS:s goal. 75 minutes into the game, Rony de Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trempes EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vanderley SS the free kick. Rony de Carvalho hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Ernesto Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vanderley SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dudu Favoretto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dudu Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Paraibano in the 81st minute of play. Wágner Rosado came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Anselmo Antunes could save by the left post.
