Isaltino de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 9 minutes, Eugênio Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tritona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugênio Coutinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee showed Eugênio Coutinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Tritona got a freekick which was hit by Eugênio Coutinho. Isaltino de Brito was a little too slow when Virgílio Soeiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Tritona's zone, Dadá Quaresma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaltino de Brito came out of the goal and Dadá Quaresma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tritona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cauã Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Coruja supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Coruja would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
