Donato Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel de Toledo having to interfere. Rubens Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Dante in the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 played minutes Mutari SS got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Coutinho. Raí Rosa charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raí Rosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cássio Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Perez having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Mazinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pequeri's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubens Perez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rubens Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Dante in the 42nd minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernardinho Dante made a kick off. If Bernardinho Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardinho Dante took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubens Perez. Rubens Perez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Leonel de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Rosa in the 66th minute of play. Raí Rosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonel de Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raí Rosa in the 69th minute of play forced Pequeri's goalkeeper Leonel de Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute Mazinho Borges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mazinho Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the game, Víktor Velloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mutari SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pequeri the free kick. Víktor Velloso hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Mazinho Borges might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rubens Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mazinho Borges ran back to his position shaking his head. Bernardinho Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 94th minute Bernardinho Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
