Enio Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaltino Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaltino Quintal in the 13th minute of play forced Quirino's goalkeeper Enio Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arlindo Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Romero having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Isaltino Quintal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enio Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Barros in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24thth minute of the game Isaltino Quintal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quirino's Enio Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaltino Quintal in the 25th minute of play forced Quirino's goalkeeper Enio Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Sílvio Luiz Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Delvino SS's Manfredo Meireles got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Arlindo Secco made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 33rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Marcos Romero would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Arlindo Secco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Isaltino Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Andrade having to interfere. In the 47th match minute, Quirino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Diniz to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sílvio Luiz Mangueira was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Delvino SS getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Diamantino Barros hit a great ball. Sílvio Luiz Mangueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Romero having to make a save. Arlindo Secco took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Romero. Marcos Romero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaltino Quintal got free with Enio Andrade in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Erivaldo Paes fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quirino's protests and gave Erivaldo Paes a yellow card for diving instead. Valdir Zanette hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Sílvio Luiz Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Quirino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sílvio Luiz Mangueira couldn't finish the play. Manfredo Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delvino SS's Marcos Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luiz Mangueira in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quirino's goalkeeper Enio Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cícero Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Arlindo Secco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Romero. Delvino SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arlindo Secco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luiz Mangueira in the 92nd minute of play forced Delvino SS's goalkeeper Marcos Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Sílvio Luiz Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quirino's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luiz Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcos Romero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
