The referee showed Elias Matos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Betão Zanette ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robinho Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to Iramaia FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Donatello Ortiz hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Fernando Veloso collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. Dé Saldanha's late challenge caught a Iramaia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dé Saldanha helped the player get up and apologised. Dé Saldanha hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Carlos Alberto Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Meirelles having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Gaspar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdo Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fernando Soeiro in the 24th minute of play forced Iramaia FC's goalkeeper Valdo Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Lanacre booed when Iramaia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betão Zanette got free with Robinho Leite in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Alberto Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Meirelles having to interfere. Lanacre's Luís Fernando Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th match minute, Iramaia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Leite to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Iramaia FC's Elias Matos got a free kick in the 39th minute. Lanacre's Carlos Moreno couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Iramaia FC. Betão Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinho Leite having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Alberto Gaspar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Márcio de Carvalho during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Robinho Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Betão Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lanacre's zone, Elias Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Leite came out of the goal and Elias Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Iramaia FC's goalkeeper Valdo Meirelles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Fernando Soeiro. Filipe Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Gaspar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lanacre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iramaia FC the free kick. Iramaia FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
