Dênis Vander kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. When Dênis Vander fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verde's protests and gave Dênis Vander a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Verde getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Dênis Vander hit a great ball. André Rosado, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ricardo Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tarcisio do Valle in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Verde's Umberto Fonseca got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Quintal in the 36th minute of play forced Verde's goalkeeper Ricardo Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Róbson Santos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dida Faustino skillfully saved the ball. João Augusto Galvão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Dida Faustino made a huge save. Verde's Ricardo Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Verde from getting a goal against them. Pucuriu's Dida Faustino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Fonseca in the 66th minute of play. If João Augusto Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Tarcisio do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, César Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Pucuriu eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
