The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 30th minute, one of Poramana:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Poramana. Silvinho Guedes shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 44th minute Edmundo Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Cristóvão da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felippe Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Percy Montenegro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Poramana's goalkeeper Jefferson de Senna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Percy Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cerquinha were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Poramana for a fine match.
