The goal made the score 1-0. Cléberson Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cléberson Couto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Paranaense having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Batalha's Luiz Fabiano Motta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rubens Quaresma. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. Horácio Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Rocha in the 30th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Remo Borges's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horácio Paranaense was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Arthur Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guacui's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horácio Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horácio Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Rocha in the 41st minute of play. Chico Marinho hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. When Ricardinho Netto came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Guacui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardinho Netto couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Couto in the 46th minute of play forced Batalha's goalkeeper Horácio Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

If Arthur Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cléberson Couto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Guacui's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 60 minutes into the match, Batalha's goalkeeper Horácio Paranaense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arthur Rocha. In the 63rd minute, Lucas Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Guacui's Cléberson Couto got a free kick in the 67th minute. Luiz Fabiano Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Rubens Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Carlinhos Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Remo Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Fabiano Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur Rocha struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Horácio Paranaense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guacui. If Cléberson Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cléberson Couto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horácio Paranaense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Guacui's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Batalha had won, even though Guacui had held more of the ball.
