Gildo de Amorim was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Maurício de Barros. After a rather tough play, Jeriba AD's Erasmo de Brito got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 14 played minutes Jeriba AD got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo de Brito. 15 minutes into the match, Jeriba AD's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Vianna came free, but Gildo de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ivo Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Renato Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Diego Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cajueiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Vianna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enrique Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeriba AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Davi Trancoso scored to the left of an out of position Gildo de Amorim, making the score, 1-0. Ivo Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enrique Saldanha to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Cajueiros getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Chico Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo de Amorim having to interfere. Gildo de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Vianna in the 78th minute of the match. Enrique Saldanha might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hílton Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrique Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivo Barrals short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Hílton Cabral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 85th minute Diego Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Toninho Tróia fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cajueiros's protests and gave Toninho Tróia a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cajueiros getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Toninho Tróia hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Hílton Cabral successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Enrique Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cajueiros players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
