Garuva SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canelinha AD the free kick. After 6 played minutes Garuva SS got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís França. Armando Donato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís França, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. If Sílvio Luís França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo França fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Donato having to interfere. In the 28th minute Emerson Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Luís França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Armando Donato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abelardo Lucas struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Armando Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garuva SS. The Canelinha AD players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Garuva SS were winning 0-1.

In the 56th minute, Serginho Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duda Pires's late challenge caught a Canelinha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duda Pires helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Canelinha AD booed when Garuva SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélder Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Donato having to interfere. After 86 minutes of play, Canelinha AD's Serginho Ribeiro made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manfredo de Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Sabóia in the 91st minute of play forced Garuva SS's goalkeeper Manfredo de Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Sílvio Luís França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garuva SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Donato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Canelinha AD were victorious despite being under pressure from Garuva SS for much of the match.
